Explorations and Discoveries in Kosovo

Hello, Stuffie friends!
We are on our second leg of our trip (not to be confused with a leg that helps you walk) here in Kosovo.

We got picked up by Vullnet, a former exchange student of Dan’s, who took us to a marvelous restaurant with his parents. The food was good. Then there was a lot of conversation and we got a little antsy (as in fidgety, not like the insects that crawl around carrying huge things). It wasn’t very busy at the restaurant so we escaped to check out all the bridges and lights.

As you can see, there were many paths and plants all around the courtyard. It was no wonder we got lost. Lucky for us, Dan found us so we could continue our trip and head to their house for the night. In the morning, we had a special visitor come over and we got to play, play, play. It was so fun!

Our friend showed us around the outside of the house, home to lots of duck, geese and chickens. Amelia Airheart had a great time hanging out with her newest bird friends. She couldn’t figure out why there wasn’t a pond for them and she was pretty sad. Then she learned they are farm fowl not waterfowl. (Gosh, we’re learning a lot of new words and phrases on this trip!)

I found a tractor and immediately thought to take it for a ride. However, they must have been warned about my interest in driving and hid the keys!

It was disappointing to miss out driving the tractor around the farm. Sometimes it’s good to be patient, though (the kind where you wait not where you’re the one visiting a doctor). They had a special surprise for us in the city nearby…

Those cars were very fun to drive! We got lots of looks and curious glances. Guess they hadn’t seen friends as cute as us in charge of vehicles before? It was quite the experience driving in a foreign country and we mostly didn’t drive over any curbs.

On another day trip (the traveling kind, not the falling on your knees kind), we met up with a friend of Vullnet’s. She was charming and wanted to keep us. But then Dan shared how much we like to disappear on adventures, climb things, and snack on anything nearby. She decided we would be too much trouble to keep track of so we got a picture for her to keep instead.

We even got to attend a lecture at the University nearby. The lecture was in English since we were the only attendees. It was all about Kosovo and what you can see and learn and explore there. Pretty interesting stuff!

We had a wonderful time in Kosovo. The driving was a thrill, the company was exceptional, and there were many things to discover. The best part of our stay was returning to the house where there were always snacks and deserts to share. It was incredible! That’s what we call good hospitality.

To be continued…
