Let the Summer Begin- the SNOW is all gone!
Yeti, Taco, and all our Stuffie Friends!
Well, SUMMER has finally arrived with Dan raising the flags this morning! We had to wait until Dan sang (or pretended to sing) all the national anthems (US, Germany, Scotland, France, and Ireland). Then Scottie scampered up the flag pole to claim the Scottish Flag. Amelia Airheart, Loonie, and Flicker flew up to the ones they liked the most. Amelia remembered going to Ireland with Dave and AK. Ferdinand and Ranger Rita stayed on the ground as they couldn’t fly or climb, but they said it was a great view.
Scottie noticed what he thought was a new circus tent at the dock. We all scurried over to check things out- maybe there was popcorn inside. Or elephants! What we actually discovered was the pontoon Dan got last year with a big tarp over it to keep out the rain. (P.S. someone should tell him it wasn’t raining!)
Anyhow, Scottie remembered how to open the gate latch so we could look inside. We all agreed that tonight we should sneak out with some food and have a big party!
Speaking of boats, we next ventured over to the kayaks and canoe. Looks like everything is set to go! Loonie and Amelia made it very clear that they did’t need to ride in any boat as they are outstanding swimmers and float on water. Ranger Rita reminded the rest of us that she will require watercraft training and wearing of PFD (Personal Floatation Devices) before anyone will be allowed on the lake. Ferdinand is a bit skeptical as bulls don’t like water. Kayaks seem a bit tippy to him, so he may just wait and go out on the pontoon when it launches.
Scottie then spotted the return of the big directional sign. Thank goodness we know where to go again. We’ve been feeling a little lost. The sign it looks great! Apparently Dan spent a lot of time repainting all the arrows and coating them so they won’t wear out again. Now we know how far it is to our friend’s houses we will need to come up with a travel plan. We’re making a plan to visit Flynn–Miesle clan in Ennis. Can anyone translate 1713 km to miles for us?
The sign also reminded us that there are fresh cookies very nearby. Even if they’re hiding in cupboards or the freezer, we know how to open everything. Those cookies can’t hide from us!
On our way into the house, we discovered the grill open and newly cleaned. That can only mean one thing- Dan’s about to make some delicious food. We’ll be sure to get some travel containers ready for cookies and burgers. Sounds like a delicious nighttime pontoon snack to us. Feel free to join the party!
Yes, we are so glad Summer is finally here. Hope yours is starting out as well as ours! See you soon!
