Living it Up in Las Vegas

First, a note from the editor. Friends, it’s finally happened. Your fine editor and Stuffie fan, Katie, made a mistake. The last post described a vacation Scottie was taking with Amelia Airheart. However, it’s come to our attention that it is, in fact, Loonie on vacation with Scottie. We apologize for any unintentional harm and misrepresentation of our feathered friends. Also, Amelia- your reputation remains intact. Whew!

Greetings, Stuffie Friends! It’s Scottie and Loonie here, reporting with our new friend the owl. We met on vacation. (More on new friends during our next post). We’re coming to you live from a beautiful day in Las Vegas! We’ve heard there’s a lot to do and see in this city, so we thought a tour bus was a good start. So many buildings and sights, so little time!

We don’t know who Caesar is, but they sure have a nice home. It’s pretty fancy! And this place looks super fun. We’re not sure who lives in the castle- no one was home. Or they didn’t hear us knocking. One of the two.

Of course we had to learn more about the area. Turns out it’s famous for lots of different things. This is a new friend of ours who took time to show us around and tell us all about Sin City.

It was at this point we found out Las Vegas is all about the gambling and entertainment. What have we been doing looking at buildings and going to museums? We needed to catch up. So, we talked Dan into playing blackjack with us. As you can see, we took him to the cleaners!

We felt pretty confident, so we headed to the casinos. We saw a lot of people playing blackjack for money but they wouldn’t let us play because we didn’t have an ID to verify our age. So, it was slot machines for us. And did we get lucky! We thought we were doing well at blackjack- this was way better! We got rich!!! Also, if you’ve never heard the sweet, sweet sound of all those coins falling out of the chute into your waiting cup, you’ve never lived. Best… sound… ever.

What are some friends to do with all that cash? So glad you asked! First, we headed to a shop that specialized in collector’s items. We figured they’d be a good investment since you can sell them for more than you paid.

And there were some good bargains. Buy one, get one half off? Yes, please!

All that shopping made us hungry. Luckily, we spied a table covered with snacks and candy.

Oops. The people at the table were not happy with us swooping in and trying to take all their goodies. Luckily, they knew of a great place nearby with tons of candy. This place was amazing! Bamboozled will have to come here ASAP.

And, luckily for us, there was another slot machine nearby. Lucky once, maybe lucky twice! And, it paid off once again. Back to shopping we go! There was a great ice cream place nearby, or maybe we should splurge on donuts…

Then Loonie pointed out that we might be thinking too small. We have all this cash. And she flies for Amelia Airheart’s airline. So, we decided to fly across the pond to Gay Pareee. (Think that’s how it’s spelled.) Our first cross-Atlantic trip was pretty exhausting. After a nap by the river, we went to see the Eiffel Tower. Man, was that big!

And, of course, we’ve been dying to see the Big Apple, so we flew back home and landed in New York. Sad to say, we found zero big apples- just regular-sized ones. We did find this pretty cool statue. She was a present from France. Or something like that. Loonie flew us up to the top and it was a pretty sweet view from the torch.

And then I decided I needed my own wheels. No more waiting on feathered friends or plane tickets. Next stop- the open road! Can’t wait to see how this baby handles on the winding mountain roads. We’ll keep you posted!
