Christmas Lights Have Something for Everyone

Greetings, Stuffie Fans! It’s Scottie and Amelia Airheart, here to kick off your holiday season the right way. We got to see the incredible lights display at the Minnesota Arboretum last week. We’d heard great things from reliable sources. (Okay, the source is our landlord, Dan, who’s become a volunteer there. Still, he’s been feeding us long enough that we trust his good reviews.)

I mean, look at those snowflakes! So realistic you start to shiver a bit waiting for them to fall from the sky. And these butterflies are beautiful.

We were glad to see they gave the butterflies some great habitat.

The flowers are so realistic you can practically smell them from afar! And this Water Lily way was one of our favorites.

A few of us couldn’t resist the temptation of taking a little dip in the waterfall. It was very refreshing.

We stopped for awhile at this weeping willow. We’re not sure what it has to be sad about. It’s glorious looking and had lots of company all night long.

Maybe it was weeping for its poor neighbor. This igloo would probably feel better if there were a lot of snow surrounding it. We hope they’re both happier after this big snowstorm!

Really, it was delightful all around. Except….

I don’t mean to complain, but the start of the Winter Lights Walk is this huge apple.

You would think such a big apple would be edible. Or they’d be serving hot apple cider there. Or something. Luckily, we knew there were treats to be had somewhere, because the map had a place called “S’mores Village”. Eventually we found it.

We brought our own firestarters. (Thanks, Flambé & Taco!) Look at them in action!

And the results were pretty tasty.

Don’t worry if you don’t have your own dragons- they’ll light the fire for you. We’ll leave you with this peaceful video of our new friend the Willow Tree. Weep no more- there’s plenty of snow! Until next time…

-Scottie, Amelia, and all the other friends
