Fall Outings and Fun Playgrounds

Hello, Stuffie Friends!

It’s hard to believe we’ve been at our new place for nearly 3 months! We realized that you might not have seen the outside of the apartment. We live in the big tower on the right and our balcony is the on the corner that you can see.

We miss all the wildlife at our old home, especially Scottie, Amelia Airheart, and Loonie’s cousins. We’ve forwarded them our new address and are hoping for a visit soon.

As you can see we have a great view from our window. The weather this fall has been marvelous! We looked out this morning to see the fog lifting as the air temperature (30 degrees) was colder than the water.

There was a great party here at the apartments Halloween weekend. There was lots of food and a pumpkin decorating contest. We got to vote for our favorite one before they were brought back to apartments in time for trick-or-treating. Which one is your favorite?

There were 3 lucky winners of the pumpkin contest. We’d plan to enter next year, but there were no actual prizes. However, you can’t believe our luck! The apartment right across the hall is “all in” for this holiday. Decorations and candy all month long!

Since our apartments are at the end of the hall, not many residents pass by. That means we can sneak out and grab a handful of candy all day long (ok , just  a few pieces at a time). What a way to celebrate the season!

Another fall tradition takes place at Great River School where they’re busy with the Fall Play. Marial is very busy helping with the costumes. Looking at her pile of work, we decided to lend a hand. First we organized her materials…

Then Scottie tried to cut a pattern. He was quickly reprimanded since he couldn’t control the BIG scissors!

Then we decided to focus on putting together the vest.

It was at this point we were then told we’d done enough helping and should make ourselves useful outside. No problem! There are lots of neighborhood dog friends that are probably wondering where we are, anyway. Dan took us down to the walking map. He wanted to be sure we could find our way back on the many paths with the hundreds of people walking, running, and skating every day.

We did look at the map. But then we decided with so much playground equipment and a beach there was no sense in wasting time and energy walking (or flying) around the lake. We decided to stop right there and play and have fun!

After playing for hours, we relaxed at the water edge to just unwind. For a grand finale before leaving, Scottie led a few of us to the top of the lifeguard tower where we got even a better view of this beautiful place.

That’s about all for now. They are working to repair the indoor pool (the outdoor one has been drained) so we hope to get there and to the gym in a few weeks. We’ll have an update soon on how we will spend most of the winter indoors!

Until then,

Scottie, Amelia, and all your Minnesota stuffy friends
