Oh, My Goodness, Some Actual Sites! (Finally.)

Bonjour, Stuffie Friends and Fans!
If you are ever looking for chocolate candy, France is the place to be! The stores are loaded! We made an exciting discovery- a perfect likeness of Ober. We went inside and pleaded our case- to give us free candy for his modeling. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out. The owner nicely escorted us out of the shop.

Guess what? We left that shop and saw a likeness of Jacques across the street. We tried the same approach. This time, we were actually given a small piece to share! The owner thought we were so cute and agreed the chocolate cow was almost an identical twin..

And then, only a few blocks away from there… we found another chocolate shop! Sorry for the reflectoin. Can you find the candy dragon, chicken, and bunny?

Guess what? That’s right! Another chocolate shop. This one was so fancy we didn’t even go in. Apparently, these are very high end chocolates. Maybe that’s why they don’t have enough candy to fill thir window display and have to use those decorated cards?

Yesterday for lunch we stopped at a Bistro on Rive Gauch (French for Left Bank) and had a fabulous waiter named Ryan. As you can see he really enjoyed talking to us before we ate desert which was French toast glazed with caramel and topped with Ice Cream! Tres magnifique!

And then we ate a special dessert with chocolate, caramel, ice cream and a thin chocolate wafer drizzled with a cream glaze - yum. Even licking the plate was amazing!

For our final course, we had one of these. Don’t know what it’s called. Don’t care. Just call it heaven!

All those desserts started to make our stomachs hurt. After some walking, we demanded a stop for some real vittles. This was yet another delicious lunch. Imagine a submarine sandwich, but with a fresh baguette made from scratch, fancy French cheese and ham, and then lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise (of course). Tres delicious!

Okay, okay. In case you think all we do is eat famous. Delicious French food and wine, we explored the city sites….

We also really enjoyed the Tuileries gardens on a sunny warm 65 degree day. It goes for over a mile either way beautiful flowers, men playing pétanque ( like bocce but with steel balls), kids sailing boats in the fountain, views of Eiffel Tower. Lots of amazing people watching!

We also stopped at Le Petit Palais (a museum). It had this sculpture called “The Tower of Babel”. Other people were having fun talking on and on about it. We especially liked the ceiling.

In another room, we saw people doing a dance from the 1700’s. It was full of curtsies and holding hands while dancing in circles. It seemed very complicated and difficult for those of us with inflexible waists, so we said “no way” and moved on.

Speaking of things we had no energy to do, when we left the museum, we found this happening in the streets of Paris…

Yes, you read that right. It was a marathon in progress! We were very impressed with all those runners. We, on the other hand, are exhausted from all this candy viewing and dessert eating. Here’s to hoping we (and you) have sweet dreams tonight!
